Happy New Year Everyone!
This week on Cloud News Review
So what is the future of cloud services in 2018? The writers at CloudPro give their predictions on what we could be seeing this year. As Features Editor, Jane McCallin states, “Hybrid cloud is likely to continue as the dominant model of cloud deployment this year (and probably several more after that) as large enterprises in particular, but also medium-sized businesses, have found it to be a happy compromise for their needs.”
According to Brinkwire.com, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has dominated the cloud computing industry this past year. Despite growth from power players like Microsoft and Google, Amazon’s shares have not buckled all year and is the most used cloud service on the market right now.
Don’t be feeling too bad for other providers like Google though. They have recently brought in Diane Bryant as Chief Operating Officer of the company’s cloud division. Bryant is a former exec from Intel that ran a Data Center Group during her time at the company that generated $17 billion dollars in revenue.
G Suite has also thrown their hat into the identity security ring. According to Security Boulevard, “Google recently released a study where they identified “788,000 credentials stolen via keyloggers, 12 million credentials stolen via phishing, and 3.3 billion credentials exposed by third-party breaches.” You can learn all about Google’s approach to identity security here.
