Microsoft Corp. has said that over 200,000 firms are using Teams as their main source of workplace communication. Teams goes up against power players like Slack Technologies for workplace communications. Teams is only a year old and comes bundled with Office 365 making it increasingly popular.
Google has added another collaboration application to its GSuite platform. What they are calling the Activity Dashboard, provides a file’s editors the ability to see information about who has viewed a given document, spreadsheet, or slideshow. This will make things easier for future changes of said project.
Dropbox is aiming to raise at least 648 million dollars for an IPO. This number is down from their original number not long ago which was 100 million dollars more at 748 million. Valued at 10 billion dollars, the company going public would be the biggest technology company to go public in several years.
In other Microsoft news, the company has unveiled an Office 365 software package specifically for government customers with support from three government cloud platforms. GovConWire states that the product, “works to isolate government data and controlled unclassified information within the U.S.”
