Microsoft is doing a six day tech summit tour that will show the latest products, connect with people in the industry, and offer some cloud training. The intent is to help you better understand Microsoft’s cloud services and to deepen your skills for their products. Earlier this month, Amazon has added a new face to it’s cloud services in the form of Artificial Intelligence. Amazon Macie uses machine learning to pinpoint risks, classify the level of threat, and protect the data stored on the AWS cloud. Amazon is always increasing its way to become a leading force in the cloud computing industry.
So how big is Amazon Web Services? Well according to The Street, AWS owns 41% of the global cloud market, with Microsoft having 13%. Second place shouldn’t feel discouraged however because they are reported to be up by 70-80% this year.
Microsoft announced last Tuesday, that it acquired Cycle Computing, a high-performance computing, and cloud orchestration company known for its software that lets companies run massive apps in the cloud. This was a way for Microsoft to compete with the cloud giant that is Amazon Web Services.
Bonus: As many of you know, a solar eclipse happened today all over the world, the moon passed in front of the sun and was visible to everyone that did not have “clouds”.
