If you are planning on using your Office 365 Exchange Account within Outlook 2007, then you will need to first make sure that your Outlook 2007 is up to date. To find out if your Outlook 2007 is compatible with Office 365 you will want to run the Desktop Setup tool located within Office 365.
To being, open a new web browser and navigate to portal.microsoftonline.com. Sign in using your Office 365 Username and Password.
Once you have signed in, click on the Settings Icon located at the top right hand corner of the screen.
Next, within the Office 365 Settings page, click on Software located in the left hand side of your screen.
From the Software Page, click on Desktop Setup. From the Desktop Setup page, click on Set up and then run the tool. If you are asked to sign in, sign in using your Office 365 Username and Password.
The Desktop Setup tool will check your System to make sure that your Installed Office Version is up to date. Once the Tool starts up make sure to select “Microsoft Outlook (Manual Steps Required), uncheck SharePoint, then click Continue.
Next, you will have to accept the Service Agreement, click I Accept. The Desktop Setup tool will now begin to install any required updates for Office 2007. This may take some time depending on how many updates need to be installed. Once the Desktop Setup Tool has finished – click on Finish and restart your machine.
Once your computer has restarted, go ahead and bring up your Control Panel, within the search bar type “Mail”. Click on Mail, next click on Show Profiles. From the Mail Window, click on Add. Go ahead and enter a name for your new Profile. Next you will be asked to enter the information for your Exchange Account. Go ahead and enter your Name, your Email Address and your Password.
Click Next, Outlook 2007 we begin trying to locate your Office 365 Exchange account information. Once it successfully configures your account click Finish. You have now successfully configured your Office 365 Exchange account on Outlook 2007.
