How to configure your Microsoft Office 365 Exchange account on Outlook
If you are planing on moving to Office 365 or if you are an existing User within Office 365, you may be wondering as to just how to configure your Microsoft Office 365 Exchange account on Outlook.
Before we begin, there are a few requirements. You must have access to the following:
- Microsoft Office 365 email address and Password. Your Username, is the email address you use for Office 365 (example. Oscar@mydomain.com).
- Access to Microsoft Outlook.

So lets begin configuring your Microsoft Office 365 Exchange account on Outlook. From your Computer, navigate to your Control Panel, in the search box type “Mail“.
If you’ve download Microsoft Office 2013 from Office 365, you should see “Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013)”. Click on Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2013) and select Show Profiles…, the “Mail” window should appear.
Click on Add…, next type a new Profile Name. For this demonstration we will call our new Profile “Office365”. Once you are done naming your Profile, click OK.
Within the Add Account window, enter your First and Last name within “Your Name:”. Within “Email Address:”, type your Office 365 email address (Example. Oscar@mydomain.com). Finally type in your Office 365 Password within “Password:” and “Retype Password:”, click Next.
*Please Note* You cannot configure your Microsoft office 365 account using a temporary password. You must log into portal.microsoftonline.com, at least once to change your temporary password.
If you receiving the following screen, then that means that everything was set up correctly. You can now click on Finish and open Outlook 2013 to start sending and receiving emails. If you receive a Pop up window, asking for you to sign-in, please check that your E-mail Address and Password are typed correctly.
